Dining In The Dark by Winefest Des Moines & The Harkin Institute

I was absolutely elated to be a tiny part of Dining in The Dark this past November when The Harkin Institute joined forces with Winefest Des Moines to host an enlightening event.

Guests were treated to a delightful three-course dinner paired with fine wines. Adding an intriguing element, attendees wore blindfolds during one of the courses, inviting them to rely solely on their senses other than sight to savor the flavors of the dishes and wine selections. This immersive experience provided participants with firsthand insight into the significance of universal design in addressing the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in both professional settings and daily life.

I absolutely love shooting industry awards events. I learn so much about so many different types of businesses and the talents and passions that go into all of the things we may not even remember to think about. I attended DMACC for photography and graphic design before I started my business and wound up sitting at a table with the DMACC people who were in attendance to receive awards that night. It was so neat to connect the dots back to each of their roles to how my life was touched by my time there and the people who made it all work behind the scenes.

If you’re new here, hello. Glad to have you! If you know anything at all about the history of my business, you’d likely know this: It’s changed a lot over the years. And, I mean A LOT!
